Gentle Chic legal information

Terms and conditions of use

Terms for accessing and using Gentle Chic: content, accounts, collections, tools, newsletters, rights, commercial relationships and contact.

Last updated: 2026-10-21

1. Identity and scope

These terms describe access to and use of Gentle Chic, available at www.gentlechic.com. The publication is published by Merito Media LLC, at 407 Lincoln Rd, Suite 6H, Miami Beach, FL 33139, United States. The publisher’s identification is provided separately in the legal notice.

They cover the site’s editorial features. Where a service has specific terms, these must be displayed before use and apply within their scope, while respecting rights under applicable law.

2. Nature of the publication

We cover fashion, beauty, fragrances, jewellery, watches, lifestyle and things to do for readers seeking useful information to explore their style and make choices. The six editions are organised by language: Spanish, English, French, Italian, German and Portuguese. This does not establish a physical presence in each country.

Read guides, explainers and reference entries in light of their date, format, market and sources. Documentary comparisons are not hands-on tests or visits. Prices, formulas, opening times and availability can change: check with the relevant organisation. Information about cosmetics and ingredients is not a diagnosis or treatment instruction; questions about conditions, allergies or treatments require individual professional advice.

3. Access and specific choices

Open content, tools and the newsletter archive can be viewed without an account or payment. Personal accounts and newsletter subscriptions are free. The site currently offers no purchases, bookings or paid subscriptions. Access requires a suitable device and connection.

Browsing alone does not consent to commercial emails, optional cookies or paid services. Specific choices are made through the relevant controls; these terms do not replace them.

4. Accounts and personal collections

An account lets you save and organise articles, reference entries and tool results, and select preferences. Provide the necessary details and keep credentials confidential. You can change your password in settings and request a recovery link at sign-in. Report unauthorised access through Contact.

Collections are private by default. If you create a reading link, anyone who has it can view the collection and saved results; you can revoke it. Create your look designs saved in the browser depend on that local storage.

You can delete your reader account in My space settings by verifying your password and confirming the action. Data retention is explained in Privacy. Newsletter subscriptions are separate: deleting an account does not unsubscribe you. Measures against abuse must be proportionate and can be queried or challenged through Contact.

5. Free newsletter

Subscriptions require explicit consent and confirmation through the email link before activation. You can choose from the available languages and editions. Each email includes an unsubscribe mechanism; an unsubscribed address must not be reactivated without fresh confirmation.

Creating a My space account does not subscribe you. See the public archive and subscription form and the associated privacy information.

6. Tools and indicative results

Our tools include Create your look, A century of fashion, the packing planner, comparison tool and fragrance finder. They combine visual suggestions, planning criteria and catalogue data; they do not guarantee garment fit, cosmetic compatibility, availability or performance.

The comparison tool compares equivalent entries without claiming hands-on testing; the fragrance finder groups fragrance families. Packing lists depend on your trip inputs and do not independently obtain forecasts or baggage rules. Outfit and historical illustrations are editorial representations. Incomplete data and technical errors can affect results: check sources and adapt suggestions to your needs.

7. Proper use and communications

Use the site lawfully and respectfully. You must not:

  • Access accounts or restricted areas without authorisation, or bypass their controls.
  • Introduce malicious code or deliberately disrupt the service.
  • Impersonate others or falsely present communications as official.
  • Send spam, threats, unlawful content or personal data obtained without a legitimate basis.
  • Reuse materials in breach of rights or licences.

Forms are not a public commenting system. Providing information or proposing a contribution does not authorise publication or broadly transfer rights; any editorial use requiring permission will be agreed according to the material and purpose. Technical measures against abuse must respect legitimate uses and applicable rights.

8. Rights and reuse

The magazine combines its own materials, contributions, third-party resources and images under different licences. Rights belong to their respective holders. Exclusive rights are not automatically claimed over facts, data, third-party materials or AI-generated elements.

Reproducing, distributing or adapting protected materials requires the relevant permission or licence unless a legal exception applies. Licences displayed alongside a resource govern that material; public-domain resources retain their status. Attribution does not replace a necessary permission. You may share links; for other uses, check the item’s credits and licences and contact the publication. No general open licence is granted here.

10. Advertising, affiliation and buying information

Gentle Chic is supported by Merito Media LLC’s resources and advertising, affiliation or sponsorship. Sponsored items, commercial links and samples must be identified according to their nature. Affiliate links may generate a commission for the publication.

Reference entries and offers are editorial information; the site does not process purchases or bookings. If you follow a link to contract, check the seller or provider, final price, currency, market, availability, delivery and guarantees at the destination. A documentary recommendation does not guarantee suitability for you or establish actual product use.

11. Corrections and content complaints

Report errors, outdated information or possible rights infringements through the contact form. Include the URL, explain the issue and provide useful references, avoiding unnecessary personal documents.

Requests are assessed according to their nature and the supporting information. Submitting one does not ensure acceptance. Rectification or removal requests subject to a specific legal regime will be handled under it, respecting affected persons’ rights.

12. Availability and operation

Maintenance, updates, technical incidents or connectivity may interrupt the site. Features may vary by device and available data. Uninterrupted availability and an absolute absence of errors are not guaranteed; measures appropriate to the incident and the provider’s obligations will be taken. This does not limit specific guarantees or commitments undertaken.

13. Responsibility and user rights

Each party is responsible for its actions under applicable law. Explanations of informational scope, external services and incidents do not exclude legally enforceable liability.

Nothing in these terms removes non-waivable rights, excludes liability that cannot lawfully be limited, or prevents complaints or legal action.

14. Privacy and cookies

See the Privacy policy and its cookies and browser storage section. They cover accounts, forms, newsletters, necessary cookies and optional analytics. In production, Google Analytics loads only after acceptance; the “Configure cookies” control lets you review your choice. The Google map on Contact loads when that page opens, as disclosed there.

These terms do not replace privacy information or turn reading them into consent for processing requiring a specific choice.

15. Updates to these terms

The date on this page identifies the published version. Terms may be updated for legal, editorial or functional changes. Changes apply prospectively, respecting notice, acceptance and other rights required for an existing relationship. An update does not authorise new charges or retroactively change contracted services.

16. Applicable law and disputes

The publisher is based in Florida, United States, and the magazine serves readers in different territories. Applicable law and competent bodies are determined under the relevant conflict-of-law and jurisdiction rules, considering the publisher’s establishment, the service and the user’s circumstances.

No exclusive choice of law or courts is imposed because of an edition’s language or the company’s address. Consumers retain the protection of mandatory provisions applicable to them and access to competent bodies. You may send questions or complaints through Contact; doing so is not a prerequisite for approaching authorities or courts.

17. Contact and legal identification
